our past week . . .   June 15, 2008

daisy end of year celebration- we celebrated each girl’s birthdays, made their own cakes and decorated them and then had a nice lunch and swam off all that sugar!
end of year kinder celebration at an awesome park.
- complete with water balloon tosses, scavenger hunts, 3-legged races, cotton candy, sno cones, and a bbq feast that seemingly went on and on!
- it is really nice to be part of such a small school, where the community really pulls together and gives back to the kids. and what i really enjoy about getting to know these families, is how each of their talents is utilized, more than our pocket books. we had a lot of the stuff donated, because of family own businesses, which is really nice. and good lessons for the kids to understand.
our last full day of k. mari and i got alot of errands and cleaning done:)
our emi-girl’s kinder graduation and reception ceremony. the kids did an amazing job, singing, dancing and reciting special poems. us room moms were even presented with gifts, and hearing emi speak up there on behalf of her class was all worth it right there! mom came down to spend the day with mari, so that i could then take emi to another birthday party. this was an all girls swim party and she loved it!!! we took her to her favorite restaurant and there were nice moments of peace between the girls when emi would feed mari her miso soup:) then, my mom, emi and i went to see *kung fu panda*. quite entertaining!
emi did well playing with friends at the little gym, so mari and i enjoyed her class. then, we had lunch and quiet time while mari napped.
friday, we had a playdate, here. both of them had a ball! that night, i cropped with my crazy buddies, here. and i don’t know what it is but we always just seem to crack up, and they say laughter is the BEST medicine, LOL!
yesterday- we all went to the jungle, and had a great time watching the girls. they are at such different levels, so typically, it is divide and conquer- but we found a happy medium. emi likes to entertain us with her tricks on the trampoline, while mari is immersed in the ball and slide area. when daddy and mari left to take naps, another kinder friend joined us for another 1 1/2 hours or so of playtime and lunch. it was really nice to see emi play with someone who is not as social as she is either, and the two of them just had a great time together:) then, we went to her daughter’s rock star birthday!!! omgosh, that is all emi can talk about now!!! she came home screaming into the house… *there’s a rock star in the house now!!!* i didn’t have the heart to tell her to take down her hair, so she got to wear it to church today. i told her tonight though, she has to wash it out. she got out her hannah montana cd and started rockin out. and we watched highschool musical over and over again last night.

pictures will follow shortly.

have a wonderful father’s day and a great start to your summer!

it’s all about the *B*s today!!!   June 5, 2008

our littlest member of our clan has started speech therapy classes. i believe that, coupled with sign language classes, and us simply talking about literally everything we are doing while she is awake, has helped her dramatically.
so, today . . .
she signed *bye bye* as she normally would for her waving, but she did it as her mouth made the movements for the B, and as we were cleaning up after her and addie’s lunch. BIG moment for her!
and at her mommy and me class this morning, she had another mari moment! ever since she confidently became a toddler, AKA no more crawling, only walking. . . she had very little interest in any of the actual gym equipment at her class. today’s skill of the week is to do a forward roll on the balance beam. so, not only did she do ONE, but TWO forward rolls and the BESt part was the got up off her back all by herself, to a standing position and then attempted to walk the beam with no hands touching the side rails! my heart swelled with pride, and all her little friends and their parents were cheering her on, as they’ve been with us in class since the fall, so they too, appreciated and supported her in her moment today!!!

hope you have some BIG or little fun moments today! be sure to share:)
happy thursday!

w e e k e n d = FULL.   June 3, 2008

after spending my typical friday night here, the girls and i packed up mommy’s car, and headed to my folks. the girls’ spent the weekend there. both of them, a first. and they did really well:) miss emi has always had her one-on-one time with them, but this was a first for the baby. granted, she had to share, they both did awesome! my folks had just installed a new bball court, along with a swing set that includes a slide, 2 teeter totters, and a hanging bar. combine that with the water play area and lawn, emi was so thrilled! she said, *MOMMY- this is all so KEWL! just like a park!!!*
as soon as i got home, my dh had already cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms, and had started literally dumping out all closets into our family/living room. we, over the next 12 hours, had one of those deep cleaning sessions that had been oh more than 18 months coming! he knows me, and knows when i try to clean, i make a bigger mess than ever and get side tracked like 100 times w/in the hour, so i was given contained tasks like the girls’ rooms, and he totally took care of the rest! 6 HUGE garbage bags of stuff to donate/throw out later, and we have more living space in all rooms, and an entirely empty shelf in one of the closets. very thrilling moment indeed! quite the concept to NOT fill something simply b/c it is empty! we did take a dinner break, at our FAVE japanese restaurant, too. it was so strange w/o the girls, and all the staff asked where they were:)
sunday, after church, i headed up for the mechanic’s meeting and crop, at suzy’s!
Dsc 0556 borrowed this one from her blog, our team is just amazing! i am truly honored to be with all these fun, inspirational, strong, and creative girls! we planned out the next 6 months of events/classes. . . and i cannot wait to see how it all unfolds and what creative stuff goes on! we always have literally the latest and greatest products to work with, she totally takes care of us! LOVE you suzy and TEAM! after the meeting and lunch, we shopped, chatted and then started cropping:) i actually was quite productive, given we didn’t start croppin til around 3pm. i posted earlier about just being in denial of how fast life with a second child has gone by. so, i printed all my faves from her 5m-12m. managed to organize them all, and then get 1 1/2 los finished for my assignments for next month . . . until we get a phone call from janice!!! she was like, um hello, i’m here, should i meet you at the movies or? . . .
so, PO, suzy and i literally use the potty, grab garbage and head out the door to run to the theatre to get in line for some SEX (and the city)! omgosh, if you haven’t seen it, go! go. now. it is that GOOD. it is 11pm on a tues night, and it is playing somewhere. go now!
my folks brought the girls’ home, and then daddy took care of them for dinner/baths/reading/prayers. such an amazing daddy he is to our sweet/sassy and full of drama girls! wouldn’t have it any other way!
happy tuesday!!!
