i forgot this bit that brian recounted for me while on the way to the range this evening:
emi: are you so gonna cry when i’m 11 daddy?
brian: why 11 emi?
emi: because that’s when i get my next shots!
brian: you remembered that from when? the last time you were at the drs?
emi: yes
brian: when were you at the drs last?
emi: when i was 7! [ok she just turned 7 this past april]
