love that my dh shared this toast. he did an amazing job, love you, b!
I want to dispel some rumors. First, I did not drop Kevin on his head when he was a baby. HE, rolled off the changing table. And yes, I was involved in him getting the scar on the brige of his nose, but how was I to know that he would go “over” me when we were playing goal-line stand. Kev, my daughters thank you for letting me experiment on you. Jenn, my family would like to thank you for taking damaged goods.
Weddings remind me of one of my favorite Bible passages, no not the 1st Corinthians cliche. I’m talking about Ephesians 5:22. For all you non-Biblical scholars it goes “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.” Good stuff, right? I mean every married man knows this works like a charm, right? Verses 23 - 24 continue “For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, His body, of which He is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” Paul would have made some marriage conselor.
But in all sincerity you have to continue to verse 25 which says, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her…” See as husbands we are to sacrifice everything, even our lives, for our wives and if we are loving our wives to that extent then our wives should be submitting to us knowing we only act out of love for them. Of course we husbands never sacrifice everything even if we should and wives don’t always submit even when they should, but we have Christ who sacrificed everything on the Cross for us as a picture of what marriage should be.
kevin + jen = married. it was beautiful. family oriented. so much fun!

dh was his best man. miss emi and mari were flower girls, along with lauren, jen’s niece. at least 2 out of 3 of them made it down the aisle!

before and after the ceremony, they took pictures. at the park, at the church, and outside. they couldn’t have asked for a better day! totally took care of the kiddos too! they brought sandwiches, cookies, drinks and more for them for all of their down time. you know me, i had my cooler all prepared, but all i had to bring was mari’s milk and her diaper bag! thanks auntie jen!

dh and i had about 30 minutes of us time during the reception. which was just amazing! miss emi went with the kids to the preschool area of the church, where they had hired the teachers to watch the kids for up to 2 hours. LOVED that! they had games, watched movies, and played on the equipment. miss emi was content going back and forth between the equipment, and watching CARS. and this just shocked us! miss mari found a new friend…auntie cathy! she was wondering all around the dance floor, then, found uncle lloyd and auntie cathy’s table. she took one look at cathy and put her arms up in the air [her sign for pick me up]. cathy did, and they were inseperable until we left. dh went over to spell cathy, and after about 5 minutes, mari went around table to table looking for her, until she found her. cathy is a nurse, and we think has many calming qualities like my mom, and believe that is what drew mari to her. so proud of you miss mari! thanks auntie cathy!

the cake was so yummy and her decor so her! beautiful. simple.

my dh, his bro kev, and sister karen.
now off to find one of just the bride and groom. wish me luck.

we had such a wonderful easter this year:) after church, we got the house ready for our family and friends and a visit from the easter bunny! bok bok LOL!

still cannot believe it is JULY 1st. we have such a busy july, so i will be taking a blog break. be back when things settle down:)
seems like i just posted that? it was another very full weekend, for us all. we all had so much fun doing our own things, and then today, had a wonderful time at the little gym, celebrating her grandson’s 2nd birthday!
thursday, after little gym camp, miss emi went home with my mom and had some awesome one on one time, just with her and my dad. their backyard is so spacious, and they filled it with a bball court, swing/slide set, and water/sand play area for the girls. they are so fortunate! daddy golfed and even though he didn’t have a good game, he had fun. he caught up with my cousin’s dh, so all was good there.
friday, after miss mari and i had our play time, daddy took over and i cropped my heart out! didn’t start until about 10pm, after our giggles and wiggles were out LOL. i finished one of my assignments, so i felt productive at least:)
saturday, i took miss mari up to my parents to join her big sis. we had a nice picnic lunch, and then i headed to suzy’s for bf’s class and more! dh had my bil’s bachelor party that day/night. they played bball for 2+ hours [and no one got hurt LOL], they had lunch, then bowled, then took in an A’s/giant’s game [the giants WON!!!], and then who knows what they did. what i do know is, they were so freakin tired from all the physical stuff, who would’ve thought? LOL. just happy that no one got hurt!
today, i slept in:) dh went to church. the girls and my parents came home just in time for lunch. after that, my parents’ took off, and we celebrated tanner’s bday:) then, we played, had dinner, and now it is chill time for dh and i:)
hope you had a full weekend, too:) whatever that means for you and your families!
blessings,
erin

cannot wait to meet jackie kendall, hopefully early next winter!
lessons reinforced tonight, on forgiving the unforgivable [be a good forgiver]
- bless those who curse you.
- pray for those who mistreat you.
-YOU live in captive when you don’t forgive freely.
-bitterness harms more the container it is in, than those it is poured onto.
-anger kills love.
-forgiveness aborts anger.
- Jesus died on the cross to forgive my sins.
daisy end of year celebration- we celebrated each girl’s birthdays, made their own cakes and decorated them and then had a nice lunch and swam off all that sugar!
end of year kinder celebration at an awesome park.
- complete with water balloon tosses, scavenger hunts, 3-legged races, cotton candy, sno cones, and a bbq feast that seemingly went on and on!
- it is really nice to be part of such a small school, where the community really pulls together and gives back to the kids. and what i really enjoy about getting to know these families, is how each of their talents is utilized, more than our pocket books. we had a lot of the stuff donated, because of family own businesses, which is really nice. and good lessons for the kids to understand.
our last full day of k. mari and i got alot of errands and cleaning done:)
our emi-girl’s kinder graduation and reception ceremony. the kids did an amazing job, singing, dancing and reciting special poems. us room moms were even presented with gifts, and hearing emi speak up there on behalf of her class was all worth it right there! mom came down to spend the day with mari, so that i could then take emi to another birthday party. this was an all girls swim party and she loved it!!! we took her to her favorite restaurant and there were nice moments of peace between the girls when emi would feed mari her miso soup:) then, my mom, emi and i went to see *kung fu panda*. quite entertaining!
emi did well playing with friends at the little gym, so mari and i enjoyed her class. then, we had lunch and quiet time while mari napped.
friday, we had a playdate, here. both of them had a ball! that night, i cropped with my crazy buddies, here. and i don’t know what it is but we always just seem to crack up, and they say laughter is the BEST medicine, LOL!
yesterday- we all went to the jungle, and had a great time watching the girls. they are at such different levels, so typically, it is divide and conquer- but we found a happy medium. emi likes to entertain us with her tricks on the trampoline, while mari is immersed in the ball and slide area. when daddy and mari left to take naps, another kinder friend joined us for another 1 1/2 hours or so of playtime and lunch. it was really nice to see emi play with someone who is not as social as she is either, and the two of them just had a great time together:) then, we went to her daughter’s rock star birthday!!! omgosh, that is all emi can talk about now!!! she came home screaming into the house… *there’s a rock star in the house now!!!* i didn’t have the heart to tell her to take down her hair, so she got to wear it to church today. i told her tonight though, she has to wash it out. she got out her hannah montana cd and started rockin out. and we watched highschool musical over and over again last night.
pictures will follow shortly.
have a wonderful father’s day and a great start to your summer!
