finished summer homework. check.

made sure all pieces of uniform fit. check.

new shoes. check.

new socks. check.

abandon the jumper she has worn since kinder, cuz 3rd graders don’t want to wear them anymore. check. [though mommy is so not ready!]

special lunch and shopping date with mommy today, the last friday before school starts. check.

ready to have a 3rd grader. check.

day 2…   August 17, 2010

little miss m has been feeling under the weather,

so unfortunately today is day 2 of just being here at home…

trying to keep up with her not feeling well.

laundry going for the 3rd time since 8am.

trying to keep liquids in her.

miss e is being a trooper and is doing alot of reading, has finished up her homework for 3rd grade, and is drawing her heart out for her sister, in hopes that her colorful artwork will help her feel better.

thank you for all of your support for our family:)

this past weekend was very bittersweet and sad,

but we know in our hearts it is going to be ok.

Stay-cation…continued.   August 6, 2010

Instead of making our annual trip up to Lake Tahoe,

since we both had been traveling so much recently, we decided to have fun around our own area.

Yesterday, we had a blast up at Gilroy Gardens,

and today,

we took our family down to the beautiful Monterey Bay area.

Miss E couldn’t get enough of the penguins and jellies…

And miss M adored the Sea Horse and Dragon exhibit…

she absolutely LOVED the little sea horsies and giant shrimp scurrying about and right in front of her.

bless her heart, she kept asking them to stay right here, so i watch you!

Family Fun!   August 5, 2010

We took advantage of Daddy’s day off from work…

Daddy got his workout in.

Mommy got her workout in.

Then, the girls got their workout in,

HERE!

The rides were the first stop and instant hits!

Merry Go Round.

Strawberries.

Spinning cups.

Fishies.

And then, after lunch…

they discovered the water play area!

Need I say more?

After 4+ hours, and countless more rides and playtime, we headed home.

And then, Mommy and Daddy enjoyed date night!

If you haven’t seen Inception…go. NOw. it is that good!

But lately, since Mommy has been up to her eyeballs in assignments, work for the summer catalog, prepping for classes, guest assignments, and more…

when Mommy works, my littles dive in too!

Just picked miss E from Art Camp.

And she brought this home, that she created in her last 20 minutes in class…

Is it just me or does this girl really have talent?

Her instructor, who as a young girl spent most of her free time drawing just as much as miss E, insists she does.

And her instructor has her art work in galleries across the globe.

Wonder what she will do with her talent later in life?

For now, they will adorn our walls.

So proud of her!

your precious lil 3 yr old wakes up at 4:30am missing her daddy!

you abandon all other plans…

[thankfully playdates being rescheduled during summer are easy!]

and embrace the fact that you’ve been swimming for the past week straight, and call it an arts n crafts mommy camp at home day!

you build animals out of paperoni!

you take lessons from your older daughter on how to sketch properly and then proceed to see her score you only after one lesson! sigh. LOL.

you allow your children to freely explore your stash…

this one couldn’t get enough creative impressions stars stickers! pretty sure they are still in my bra and my hair!

you search the entire house for over 30 minutes for your dd’s smock, only for her then to choose to play with playdoh in it instead of paint! LOL.

Course, the minute she abandons the smock and you are helping your older one create her own boardgame…

she gets into your stickles and uses it as fingerpaint!

this is miss E’s boardgame.

only 3 players at a time…you can choose:

the pink, orange or purple gem. no boys unless you are daddy allowed.

There are now a dog and kitten added to miss E’s growing family of animals in her room.

And this is all before lunch.

Then, naptime was blissful, Mom came down to hang, had an early dinner and took the girls to Chuck E. Cheese and then picked up daddy at the airport!

Lovin These Summer Days…   July 16, 2010

We just returned from a beautiful week down in southern Cali!

Silly Mommy left her camera at home, so until I get some from my Mom,

here’s one of miss E with her nails all pretty before we left:

This past week, we:

swam daily

laughed daily

enjoyed family time

gave lots of love to their sweet dogs

had no computer time

only one night of videos

splashed around at the new waterpark in legoland

and…can’t wait to do it all over again!

[This time with Daddy...since he won't be in TX for a church convention!]
